Serbian Chef Miki and his wife Ena run the show, where every morning they buy fresh ingredients from the market, climb up the stairs, and create a vibrant menu of the day based on what’s seasonal, what’s fresh, and what you’ll love.

Setubal’s Mercado do Livramento is one of the liveliest places in town, where local farmers and fishermen and butchers and bakers all come together to sell their goods. Everything is hyper-local and fresh, grown, caught, or raised in Setubal, and only sold when at it’s peak.
USA Today calls the market one of the best in the world. We have to agree, but don’t take our word for it, come to see it yourself.





Miki moved to Setubal in 2018, and as any foodie, immediately found the Mercado do Livramento and fell in love with the quality of ingredients available there. He loved going to Setubal restaurants, indulging in grilled fish and the local choco frito, but noticed that there weren’t any local spots that made a perfect burger. Locals went to McDonald’s, and Miki knew they deserved better. After 9 months of tweaking recipes, adapting the Serbian pljeskavica and street burgers he’s loved from around the world, Miki created the perfect blend of meat and spices. He created Setubal’s best burger. He also whips up his grandmother’s recipes, Portuguese favorites, and more to create the dish of the day depending on what’s fresh at the market downstairs.

Great traditional handmade Balkan burgers. Best pjeskavica in a 3000km radius! Fantastic homemade baklava!

First time at Café Terraço do Mercado ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had their plate of the day with grilled chicken, rice pilaf and cabbage salad, and it was a delicious meal! The chicken was perfectly cooked—tender on the inside with a nice char on the outside with lots of flavor. The rice pilaf was a good companion—light and fluffy with a slight nuttiness from the chickpeas. The cabbage salad brought a refreshing contrast, offering a crisp texture and a slight tang from the vinaigrette dressing.
The hubby had their balkan style burger. A combination of beef & pork mixed with onion and garlic layerd with fresh homemade buns.It was humongous and delicious!
Their menu changes daily so check their instagram account to see the plate of the days in their stories. We’re definitely adding this place to our lunch rotation and can’t wait to go back!

Homemade food, really tasty, good environment, the owners are really nice and the prices are reasonable in a range of 5-10€ per meal 😁 a diamond to discover in Setúbal 😁 highly recomended

Heartwarming Balkan food in the cutest balcony on top of Mercado do Livramento. Properly made pljeskavica (a type of Balkan burger) is a must try! Ena and Miki know how to make everyone feel at home here ❤️

The food is so tasty, the service is perfect and the view is amazing! If you want to try the real Serbian “pljeskavica”, you must visit this place.
